Sausalito California

Sausalito, CA is the most southern tip of Marin County. It begins just after you exit the Golden Gate Bridge. Views here can be quite spectacular and immediate. The town is also served by the ferry which docks at both the Embarcadero Ferry Building and Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. Tourists love the art galleries, shops and restaurants. Real estate in Sausalito varies from spectacular hillside homes, to condos, to houseboats. During World War II the north end of Sausalito was transformed into shipyards. The Liberty ships were built here. Activities can include a visit to the Bay Area Discovery Museum with interactive displays for children, hiking at Fort Baker and the Marin Headlands, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA).
