Belvedere California

Belvedere is Marin's geographically smallest and most exclusive incorporated town. Belvedere Island is approximately one mile long and less than one-half mile wide, though technically not an island. The town also includes homes built around the lagoon and causeways which separate the island from Tiburon. "China Cabin," the restored social saloon of the 19th century SS China, is located on Beach Road. "Belvedere" is Italian for "beautiful view." Belvedere has many stately homes with extraordinary views. Lagoon homes feature docks for small, non-motorized boats. Belvedere is home to the San Francisco Yacht Club. Belvedere and Tiburon share the excellent Reed School District.
