Fairfax California

Fairfax is located away from the activity of Highway 101 and Marin County's more populated areas, and is one of the quieter towns of Marin County. It was originally part of a Spanish land grant, and was named after Charles Snowden Fairfax. Most Fairfax homes feature hillside living, with decks or small yards. Many homes were originally summer cabins and have views, typically of Mt. Tamalpais. There is easy access to the hiking and biking trails of rural west Marin County and the ocean. Fairfax and San Anselmo share the Ross Valley School District.
